This was a fixed term contract, where I worked on public space solutions, large and small, throughout the compact urban areas of Dunedin.The Dunedin urban design team is also creating temporary public spaces, of which I am deeply involved in. In particular, I am contributing significantly to the establishment of a trial public plaza in the lower Octagon of Dunedin over Easter weekend. This involves providing beautification in the way of trees, plants, and temporary furnishings throughout the site. It is a very complex project involving many suppliers of whom I have established relationships with, several of whom will sponsor the event.I am also building on my experience to create a parklet in South Dunedin to coincide with the Dunedin Science Festival. This will involve a design that includes indigenous motifs, but also will serve as an educational tool to convey green infrastructure ideas that could be established in South Dunedin

Graduate-level landscape architect, with responsibilities ranging from complex digital renderings and the composing of visual landscape assessment reports. This also served as an entry-level planning position, where I began to learn the entire legal planning framework of New Zealand. In terms of urban design, I reviewed the urban design potential of a few large transportation projects, where I provided other visual and ecological amenities in line with regional and district plans.

Facilitated public input through focus groups, interviews, and town hall meetings. Assimilating public input data into the top priorities of that given municipality.Develops and designs master plan concepts for municipal downtown areas and parks throughout the state of Georgia. Also includes developing illustrative concepts of landscape designs through a combination of hand-drawn and computer-designed plans, perspectives, section-elevations, and diagrams. Performs spatial analysis using Geographic Information Systems to identify hydro-graphic, economic, demographic, and ecological characteristics of the existing site conditions as well as projecting characteristics of an implemented design.

Corvallis, Oregon Area

I was responsible for maintaining a digital, geographic inventory of man-made structures, mainly culverts and dams, which may represent obstacles to migrating salmonids. Part of this work included managing large numbers of volunteers to find and measure the dimensions of these structures to identify the structures as barriers. This involved hand-held GPS mapping software to use in the field to survey along streams and collect the culvert's information.I was also responsible for writing grants annually to keep the program running and my salary paid.
