I founded, teach, and own all aspects of this monthly, donation-based self-defense class by and for members of the queer community. Our mission is to empower LGBTQIA2S+ people to feel safer with our classes directly serving 150+ queer New Yorkers, and to support queer community by donating all monthly class proceeds to 19 queer charitable organizations and counting. I oversee donation collection, distribution, and tracking, and donor stewardship; I manage the budget, including bookkeeping and accounting; and I coordinate outreach, marketing, and logistics, including social media and driving partnerships with nonprofit organizations such as LGBT Network Center, Astoria Trans Collective; and The Rolling Library.

I draw on my arts background in my work as a sustainability consultant, organizer, and content creator. I develop creative zero-waste solutions for nonprofits, businesses, and individuals and create educational and activist content @zerowastecreative TikTok (>12K followers). My recent work on Apocalyptic Artists Ensemble’s film production of “As You Like It” earned the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment’s Gold Seal (highest honor) for sustainability. This September I served as a Hub Captain Organizer for March to End Fossil Fuels 2023, which turned out 75K marchers.

I own operations of our children’s karate program serving 130+ children ages 2-15, personally assist our director daily, and autonomously oversee special events and new membership initiatives. I coordinate 20+ annual public programs and internal events to grow new business and support local charities; manage IT systems and software for membership management, customer success, internal communications, and marketing; and teach 15+ weekly classes serving 200+ students as a full-contact black belt and semi-knockdown champion.

TFC is a nonprofit startup that coordinates tech industry volunteers to work on progressive political campaigns. I researched and wrote our vote-by-mail team’s technical guide, and provided real-time text hotline support to voters in 11 key states, reaching 20M+ voters. We increased 2020 voter turnout by 8.4 percentage points and successfully flipped 4 out of 5 target states.
