I love being in the innovative field of healthcare. With my 20 years of nursing experience I have amassed a wide variety of skills lending me a well rounded nursing foundation. Over the years, I have cared for patients who were critically ill and injured or who developed complications from a surgical procedure in the post anesthesia unit setting as well as intensive care units. I have cared for children and adult patients with chronic, complex, co-morbidities including end-of-life care. Becoming a nurse was always a part of my personality. I care for people in the most compassionate way I know, as if they were my family. I enjoy getting to know people and listening to their ideas beliefs and desires. I thrive in an environment of care, compassion, advocacy and education. I spend time helping patients and families understand all of the aspects of their plan of care. I am adaptable and flexible. As a former travel nurse, I have seamlessly acclimated myself into many new cities, hospitals and nursing units as if I were a chameleon. I was born and raised in Centre, Alabama. After earning my Associate Degree in Nursing from Gadsden State Community College and later my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama, I have worked in Women's and Children's Services for 20 years, most recently for 10 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I enjoyed exploring the country as a travel nurse, providing women's care in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and California. Along the way I continued my education and earned a Master of Science in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the University of South Alabama in 2015.I moved to Nashville in 2005 and currently live in Spring Hill with my husband, Trent, and two children. I enjoy spending time with friends, traveling, sports events, outdoor activities and stay busy being the biggest hockey, baseball, basketball and soccer fan of my children.
