Maintain accurate record of current licenses held on state by state basis along with continuing education (CE) requirements. I examined short term disability (STD) claims to determine if a claimant was eligible for benefits. During this review, I would examine policies and contracts as well as review the medical records and pending medical treatment. Upon completion of the review, I would determine if the claim was payable or determine if a denial would be appropriate. If payable, I would then determine based on the medical information provided, what the appropriate duration should be for the claim.

I facilitated obtaining pertinent documents and claim information to my peers so they could perform their primary function in their role. In addition to facilitating with document retrieval, I also processed new claims. My productivity level was exceptional and I proposed new ideas that would help processes become more efficient. Lastly, I was promoted within the team to be the Lead contact for our National Account JP Morgan/Chase and managed their claim submittal process.
