Increased product releases, reduced IT downtime, reestablished IT support relationship with business units, and cut IT spending by 5% ($500K).Jumpstarted migration of commodity-based services to SaaS/cloud providers. Opus used unsupported versions of MS Exchange and SharePoint due to data sensitivity, requiring internal support. Both programs suffered from technical outages. Initiated move to MS SaaS. To reassure clients about security issues of hosting email with personally identifiable information (PII) in the cloud, demonstrated security provided by MS O365. Achieved 100% uptime and broke down perceived barriers to cloud adoption.Assured data security for mobile communications. Field personnel used unsecured laptops and personal smartphones to connect to Opus email system, potentially exposing sensitive data. Clients’ security audits required that all mobile systems be secured. Set up VPN (virtual private network) configuration with a primary data center. Added bit-locker encryption and enterprise security software. Assessed and chose mobile device management (MDM) service offering. Mobile personnel could now securely access key information on the network when traveling or at a client site. Helped ensure the company met our many clients’ stringent security requirements.
