Christina Abdul-Samad Email and Phone Number
The past few years I have learned as being child and youth care is to build a rapport with the clients, having therapeutic relationships with children and youth, and being an advocate for children, youth, and their families. While I was doing my placements and work, I use rapport to develop self-awareness and knowledge of strength’s and weakness of clients. I have learned by using therapeutic relationships by determining the kind of relationship I have with children and youth by the things I say and do with them and by promoting growth towards the clients I work with. I have been using behavioural techniques to mange their behaviour and using counselling methods with children and youth. What I have learned from my faculty that child and youth workers are advocate for children and youth and using the skills that I have learned from them as being a child and youth care practitioner. Overall, I have learned that helping others to find their own solution for problems that they have and it has taught me many different situations to use my skills. Also, it helped me to understand in working with Autistic youth and behavioural children . I believe to work with children and youth in a calm and positive approach as well as to put mind at ease. My philosophy is that our life is like a product of our skills and capabilities to help others and keep trying new things to get a better perspective on everything as well as not giving up on others to do better.
