The focus is to provide transparency to citizens through our policies, planning, reporting, technology and engagement. The Division is comprised of Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Planning & Consultation, Administrative Support and the civilian staff that support the Ridge Meadows RCMP Detachment.Leading corporate and community initiatives including the Open Government Project for which the City of Maple Ridge received a CAMA Willis Award for Innovation in 2018. Also led the Community Social Safety Initiative which was a top priority for Council. Due to the success of this multi-faceted program, over 20 municipalities reached out to the City of Maple Ridge to learn about, and model elements of our program in their municipalites.

Responsible for all aspects of the City’s computing and telecommunications infrastructure and data resources located across multiple sites in the community. The computing systems consist of well over a dozen Enterprise applications, hundreds of productivity applications and databases, and well over a thousand computing, network and communications devices. Responsible for strategic planning, managing budgets, procurement, upgrading, introducing new technologies, mentoring staff and running operations, has allowed me to foster a change in the culture and role of IT in our organization, resulting in positive change. Working with senior staff and Council to identify the critical role technology plays in supporting and facilitating the successful implementation of business objectives. Leading corporate initiatives, including the Open Government Portal and development of a Corporate IT Strategic Plan through a Steering Committee.

Maple Ridge, Bc

Designed, implemented and supported a large scale infrastructure in this academic institution. The Active Directory environment supported 40,000 active user accounts across a multi-campus WAN, within a heterogeneous systems environment, requiring a seamless user experience. I was responsible for the implementation of Active Directory and the 100+ Windows servers in the infrastructure. I was also charged with the task of reclaiming the technical empires that had been built within finance and other administration areas of the university and to rebuild and incorporate these services into the central infrastructure. Both of these roles required excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills as well as the technical knowledge, skills and abilities to deliver results. This work also helped me understand the value in developing operational standards and change control processes in a large-scale operation.
