Completes assignments in industrial pretreatment including writing of pretreatment permits, compliance inspections and progressive enforcement. Additionally assists wastewater facilities during slug events and performs Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.Through inspections and progressive enforcement administer compliance for thirty-one industrial user permits, including ten categorical industrial user permits. One such enforcement resulted in environmental value for JEA’s Buckman Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) by reducing the total molybdenum discharge to the sanitary sewer. This reduction is beneficial for Buckman WRF’s ability to meet permit limits. Designed current Slug and Upset Incident Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Buckman WRF. Incorporated previous knowledge and experience into a streamlined process to quickly and efficiently respond to slug events in order to identify and stop the source and allow the WRF to function normally. Implemented and managed the Silver Code of Management Practices Program which saw a reduction of silver in the wastewater influent by 95% at the Buckman WRF.Created a process to identify contaminated sites for required groundwater sampling along JEA construction areas. This new process reduced the number of samples JEA previously took this resulted in a cost savings for JEA. Initiated Best Management Practices (BMP) style permits for hospitals. This change resulted in value to the customer through reduced regulatory oversight as well as adding financial value for both the hospitals and JEA by eliminating sampling.
