United Against Slavery is a collaborative empirical research organization that identifies and documents unresolved challenges impacting anti-trafficking stakeholders here in the United States and around the globe. Launching the National Outreach Survey allows anyone to use their voice to impact lasting change in the fight against sex and labor trafficking and domestic servitude. Greater efforts should be implemented to provide a place for freedom, unity and accountability that will better serve all victims of human trafficking in the United States and abroad. On January 11, 2016, Human Trafficking Awareness Day, United Against Slavery (UAS) introduced the first Pilot Study. We had survey participants representing 47 states and 70 countries for this initial launch. While focusing on collaboration and unifying with other national anti-trafficking leaders, challenges were identified and documented through online surveys to the main stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking. Upon the conclusion of the surveys, we created the Preliminary Synopsis Report to document the efficacy and potential for our future data collection efforts. In addition, the report reflects some of the initial data collected in the 2016 Pilot Study and collaboratively provides recommendations to problem solving those challenges which are: (1) lack of funding, (2) outdated statistics, (3) lack of best practices and standards and (4) division among leaders.As UAS prepares for the launch of the official National Outreach Survey to reach more stakeholder groups, it is necessary to expand our leadership team. We are passionate about collaborative teamwork and wish to bring together organizations and agencies from all stakeholder groups, working together to problem solve these challenges.
