Administrative Assistant
CurrentDuties:• Report directly to the National Institute of Health (NIH) Center for Scientific Review (CSR) Director for the Division of Receipt and Referral (DRR). Directly support executive level personnel including the NIH Project Control Division Chief, Deputy Division Chief, Division Director, Deputy Director, two Assistant Directors, three Associate Directors, and the Division Management Analyst. • Research all Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA) with special receipt dates published weekly on the NIH Office of Extramural Research Grants and Funding portal. Data gathered is used to maintain inventory of all Program Announcement and Request for Applications (RFA) over multiple years to provide NIH Scientists with current grant opportunities. • Identify FOAs for further review. Analyze each selected FOA to determine exactly which institutes are participating in the announcement opportunity. In addition, each FOA is analyzed for funding cutoff level detail, application resource personnel restrictions, application category, and appropriate document organization and format.• Coordinate with CSR Division Chiefs to ensure that the FOA applications are assigned to the proper Integrated Review Group by DRR staff. • Receive inquiries from external organization’s Primary Investigators (PI), and provide routine, procedural information as well as in depth feedback pertaining to grant application protocols and procedures. Professionally resolve complaints from PIs around the world when grant applications are denied or withdrawn from funding consideration. Over 85000 grant applications a year from around the world are processed.
