Constructed a 1200lb thrust, blowdown, paraffin/N2O hybrid rocket for FAR-out competition hitting an apogee of 5,000 feet. Led the design development of a triplet impinging injector and vortex injector to improve regression rates and mixing. Tested injector using pressure transducers and flow sensors to size orifice CdA values to achieve desired mass flow rates. Performed stress analysis and FEA of injector to prevent bolt failure and obtain high safety margins on Solidworks Simulations. Integrated baffles in pre and post combustion zones to induce fuel turbulence to increase out combustion efficiency.

Engineered an 800lb thrust, blowdown, paraffin/N2O hybrid rocket for launch at Spaceport America reaching 2,000 feet. Manufactured the aluminum injector, graphite nozzle, and nozzle retainer using HSMWorks and CNC lathes and mills. Troubleshooted injector issues and assisted in the design of impinging injector.
