Maiduguri-Nigeria

Abyei

• Conduct a Capacity and Vulnerability Assessment and Conflict Analysis among the communities living in Abyei contested area.
• Develop terms of reference (ToR) for the establishment of Community Security Committees (CSC) that have membership from all sectors of the community.
• Train project staff on how to support Community Safety Committees in the development of well-articulated Community Safety Plans (CSP).
• Review and operationalize the Community Safety Plans into community projects/activities that mitigate identified conflict drivers in Abyei contested region.

Somalia-

• Coordinated and provided operational oversight for Community-Driven Safety and Recovery project activities at regional and community level, which include Explosive Risk Education, Conflict Resolution, Community Police.
• Supported and coordinated with Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) teams in responding to safety threats from Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)
• Designed and conducted formal and informal training to build capacity of field project staff and beneficiary communities.
• Supported the implementation of policy-level projects in Small Arms and Light Weapons, Security and Justice Reform in the Horn of Africa and Yemen.
• Make regular field visits to monitor and advise field staff on the delivery of project activities.
• Supported the on-going development of Community Safety programme in the Horn of Africa region through participation in partner working-group meetings and workshops.

Nairobi

• Coordinated and supervised the design and implementation of civic engagement and human rights project activities.
• Built the capacity of CSOs on the development of information, communication and education tools and advocacy strategies on civic engagement and human rights.
• Provided on-going technical assistance through training and mentorship to sub-grantees/partners implementing civic engagement, human rights advocacy activities.
• Appraised information, education, communication and other advocacy materials developed by partners and recommended changes to enhance their reach and effectiveness.
• Developed and nurtured close working relationships with sub-grantees/partners and other key stakeholders.

Sudan

• Coordinate and provide operational oversight for DRC/DDG’s Armed Violence Reduction program
• Negotiate the elements of the project with local government officials, community leaders and contractors.
• Recruit, supervise and help to induct and train national project staff.
• Monitor the performance of project staff, appraise and provide coaching and feedback.
• Develop realistic program work plans and financial projections with support from operation teams.
• Manage all operations in the field including personnel, assets, logistics and finance.

South Sudan

• Provide overall direct support to field operations in the areas of logistics, finance, administration, security and community/local authority relations.
• Management of financial resources at the field level through monitoring of cash flow and preparing monthly cash forecasts.
• Coordinate the mobilization of local partner organizations and government departments and establish partnerships that lead to effective program implementation and ownership among targeted beneficiaries.
• Oversee and supervise the recruitment and performance management of program support staff.
• Supervise and assist in the process of national staff capacity building, providing mentoring support where appropriate.
• Represent organization in regional coordination, inter-agency and networking meetings.

South Udan

• Identify local partners and prioritize social target groups and geographical areas for program activities.
• Plan, prioritize and coordinate all Risk Education program activities in order to achieve maximum community participation and understanding during all stages of project implementation.
• Conduct KAP surveys and needs assessment and develop activity monitoring tools.
• Recruit project staff, induct and train them on Risk Education messaging and facilitate their accreditation.
• Review and develop appropriate Risk Education educational materials that are relevant to the context for semi-literate and literate target participants.
• Develop program work plans and supervise the implementation of program activities.

Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya

Coordinate implementation of program activities.Manage annual programs budget and day-to-day management of funds.Built the capacity of refugee/returnees using films on Adolescent reproductive health and rights advocacy, HIV and Aids, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual gender-based violence.Establish contact and maintain good cooperation.
