- Engineer During Construction (EDC) for Phase I of the C-111 Spreader Canal project, under the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) of the South Florida Water Management District. The C-111 Spreader Canal Phase I Project was a $25 Million environmental restoration project which included construction of the Frog Pond Detention Area, Aerojet Canal Extension, and the S-199 and S-200 Pump Stations. These projects comprised two (225 cfs) pump stations, a 590 acre detention area, 6 articulating concrete block weirs, 13 earthen canal plugs, 8,000 feet of 80’ wide above grade concrete lined channel, 4 miles of above grade unlined channels and approximately 10 miles of earthen levees. Responsibilities included coordination with SFWMD management staff, engineering design during construction, providing guidance to contractor on complex design elements, observation of construction activities, review of material submittals, attendance of weekly progress meetings, responses to contractor’s RFI’s, signing and sealing project record drawings.- Engineer of record, responsible for preparation of Corrective Action Plan and Final Engineering Design for the remediation of the Aerojet Canal adjacent to Blue Heron Aqua Farm site. Completion of this remediation allowed SFWMD to eliminate 1,300 feet of above grade canal from the C-111 Spreader Canal project, providing a savings of nearly $600,000. The work on this project included coordination with all applicable permitting agencies and stakeholders, including USACE, Everglades National Park, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and South Florida Water Management District.- Engineer of Record for multiple industrial plant improvement projects including site engineering, piping design, pump selection, spill containment design, tank design, acid neutralization unit design, rail improvements and stormwater/drainage conveyance improvements.
