Having worked for British Steel now for over 20 years, i have gained invaluable experiences in a number of different roles in the steel industry. My current role is in a safety critical control room, the main responsibilities in this is being prepared for emergency events that occur on site, provide a safe control of the distribution gas system, trouble shooting problems and act on them, plan and forecast the works arising gas system, plus purchased fuels and also using the gases effectively across the site to maximise the boilers and turbines at the power station. Previous roles including Team Leader and Shift Manager, managing a small team at a plate hub where there was profiling machines for windtower projects. As a person, i feel that i'm enthusiastic and self motivated.In my job, communication plays a big part.I can adapt in my role and have taken on some day responsibilities like gas testing and purging the distribution system.
