The challenge was used to motivate members to keep track of their exercise goals and progress and provided me with opportunities to help members change their lifestyles to help meet their goals.For the month following the internship I covered the responsibilities of the General Manager.

Being involved in fresh business is motivating and, with motivated management, the restaurant was able to grow into one of the most popular restaurants in the greater Lansing area before expanding into two more Michigan locations. As part of the team hired for the opening of the restaurant I was able to help keep staff focused on the restaurant's potential with high standards for service, knowledge and product quality. According to Yelp.com, diners from California, New York, Japan and Korea get excited to dine at Okemos, Michigan's Maru Sushi & Grill.

Saline Parks & Recreation's Rec-on-the-Go program is a donor-supported community program that places two supervisors in parks around the community to plan games and activities for youth who are unable to afford Summer camps or care. We provided activities at two different parks per day, five days per week for the duration of the Summer vacation.

After my high school internship at the Dexter Black Belt Academy, I was offered a full-time instructing and management position where my focus was on sales, retention, outreach marketing and tending to accounts payable and receivable. I presented students (or parents) with membership contracts and upgrades as well as helped to design satellite martial arts programs at other locations in Dexter, Saline, Ann Arbor, Pinckney, and Ypsilanti.
