I moved into a hands-on management role towards the end of 2017. In this role, I run a team of recruiters who help me place consultants with my European clients. I have an incredible team of talented and ambitious recruiters who are specialists in Functional Languages (Scala, Erlang, Haskell, Clojure, Elm, Ocaml, Kotlin), DevOps, Data Science, Machine learning, Java and JavaScript recruitment.The hands-on part of my job is focusing on placing Functional Developers and Data Scientists. I particularly focus on Sweden and Norway (Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Oslo) but I also work with clients based in Copenhagen, Helsinki, Malaga, Gibraltar, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dublin and Poland. I work very closely with the Manchester Scala and Docker Meetup, by sponsoring and promoting their event. After attending the meetup each month since last year, I have gained a great insight into what’s going on in the scala/docker world and what to look out for when recruiting top talent! Whilst I have a strong current client base, I am always keen to bring new clients onboard who are facing similar challenges in recruiting IT consultants in the EMEA region.
