As the Capability Adviser for Land ISTAR, I link external stakeholders within the MOD with the MOD CSA's research programme, acting as an advocate of S&T with an in-depth understanding of the military and broader customer environments, facilitating a shared understanding across Dstl and customers of how Science and Technology (S&T) can support and enhance military capability.Key Responsibilities include:Capturing and managing S&T requirements, including understanding of priorities and exploitation routes.Maintaining sufficient situational awareness to be able to mitigate risks and keep stakeholders informed.Liaising with suppliers.Endeavouring to aid collaboration and coordination across programmes.Contributing to governance boards and their subsidiaries.

As the Deputy Programme Manager for the Future Sensing & Situational Awareness programme I am responsible for the programme identification, design and capability delivery for the UK MOD's sensor requirements. This ~£30M driving S&T programme aims to develop Sensing S&T capability across defence, academia and industry partners in the areas of future Sensing concepts, technology development, assured PNT and sensor signal processing and fusion.

Responsible for creating linkages between the MOD Research Programme and the Unmanned Air Systems Capability Development Centre and the Air Warfare Centre Unmanned Air Systems Test & Evaluation Squadron.Providing specialist S&T advice to a range of military and government stakeholders to underpin policy and to underpin the MOD equipment programme. Examples include Watchkeeper, DH3, Black Hornet, NPCC and other users.

Responsible for the leadership of a group of ~70 staff delivering high quality science technology advice to UK MOD in the field of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Sensing and Processing. The group has a ~£30M business which spans fast jets, surveillance aircraft, land systems and other applications.

I currently lead the Sensors Equipment Team, responsible for the provision of technical advice and guidance on sensors from infantry weapon sights to ship-borne radar to aircraft targeting pods to UAV sensors.

Acted as the Science Gateway between the MOD Chief Scientific Advisor's Research Programme and the MOD Equipment Programme. Working with Dstl, Industry and Academia to identify exploitation paths for R&D activities to technically derisk equipment programmes within the Dismounted Close Combat Domain. Projects included FIST, Dismounted Situational Awareness, Soldier System Lethality, VIRTUS, Tacitcal Hearing Protection.

Lead R&D activities, examining novel weapon technologies, ammunition natures and STA systems for specialist users.

Provided senior advice and leadership of Operational Analysis across Regional Command South on Op HERRICK. Provided expert advice into Campaign Effects Assessment, Counter IED, Route Security, Campaign and Operational Planning.
