The social care sector is in crisis because most care homes are not run as financially strong, healthy businesses and year on year record numbers of care (residential and nursing) homes are going insolvent.With my wife, who has owned nursing homes for 20 years, we help struggling care homes succeed.I have worked in the electronics industry for 20 plus years, founded a software company and have been a consultant for small business owners for 10 years, focusing on the social care sector for the last 3.I know how to build businesses based on strong, solid foundations and even wrote a best-selling book on the subject.Financial strength is the first step. A care provider cannot run a strong care home that delivers quality care on the fees that Local Authorities and CCGs are willing to pay. We help them work out the fees they really need that will ensure the right care is delivered by well-trained carers and nurses.I have created the Quality Care Calculator. An online tool that helps care providers set the individual fees they really need.With the right fees we then help with training, with systemising their care homes so that they run as efficiently and effectively as possible and with legislative compliance.
