In 2011, I was hired as a Deputy Sheriff, and began my career in law enforcement. In 2013, I received the Medal of Valor for pulling a woman from a burning building that her ex-boyfriend had entered attempting to harm her. In 2013, I was asked to join the General Crimes Unit as a detective, and began investigating, mostly property crimes. In 2015, I earned a position with the Robbery Unit, and investigated violent felonies. Eight months later, I was asked to join the Homicide Unit to which I am currently assigned. I additionally received the Meritorious Service Medal in 2017 for my involvement in a triple homicide investigation.I have investigated numerous incidents, from civil issues to murders. I have testified and successfully assisted in the prosecution of a number of these cases. Part of my duties are to assume these scenes, which become my responsibility to control and manage while also fulfilling my duties as investigator. I have to manage fellow deputies and detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and any other resources required to properly reach our goals.Additionally, I have been a significant factor in the onboarding, training and promotion of several new deputies and detectives. I am an FDLE certified trainer and an agency trainer for multiple programs.I am driven, hard working and resilient. I can handle high-stress situations. I learn quickly and efficiently, and love to expand my knowledge base.Prior to this, I attended college full-time while also holding a full-time position as a dispatcher for an alarm company where I learned to handle stressful situations as well as gained valuable customer service and communication skills.
