About Christopher Broderick

I recently retired as AVP for Communications and Marketing at 27,00-student Portland State University in downtown Portland, Oregon. I supervised 21 staff members who do internal campus communications, media relations, university publications and recruitment collateral, 10 social media platforms, the alumni magazine, presidential and administrative communications, creative services such as graphic design and videography/photography, events, marketing and promotions. In addition, we manage the content on the university's website, pdx.edu, and the brand identity of PSU. Prior to this, I was an award-winning editor and writer covering higher ed, K-12, politics, state government, criminal justice and other areas for daily newspapers in Portland, Denver, Phoenix and Las Vegas. I am currently doing freelance writing for several digital publications in Colorado.
