I am a Principal Consultant Mineralogist specialising in the application of petrology and mineralogy (Optical Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Automated mineralogy, Laser ICP-MS) to the minerals, mining and materials industry. I have a decade of post-doctoral experience working on a diverse range of projects and covering a wide range of material and resource types. I have gained work experience in three distinct areas. The first is environmental mineralogy and understanding the mineralogical and textural controls on acid-rock drainage and metal leaching (ARDML). The focus of this work has been to understand differences between the ARDML potential of mine waste as predicted by static test results and the performance of mine waste observed in kinetic test results. The second area of experience is geometallurgy with the qualitative and quantitative assessment of ore mineralogy and texture. The focus of this work has been to understand likely processing implications along with the interpretation of mineralization history. The last is concrete petrography, particularly related to the assessment of hand specimen cores for aggregate type against relevant standards (Mundic and IS465) and evidence of deleterious aggregate type.Specialities: Optical Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Automated Mineralogy.
