Azerbaijan

BP Azerbaijan Shah Deniz Phase 2 Project: Subsea Pipeline Engineering Team LeaderManagement of the pipeline installation engineering team based in the BP project offices in Baku. Responsibilities included management of the pipeline installation engineering team which comprised of contractors, BP staff and the ongoing development of Azeri nationals. The campaign 1 pipelay program is now complete with the primary engineering deliverables being the development of installation procedures, installation analysis, risk management, contract and technical support to the offshore pipelay activities throughout 2016/17.I am now building on the experience and lessons from campaign 1 to prepare the engineering documentation, risk identification, implementation of lessons learned and an optimised execution strategy in preparation for the campaign 2 pipleay installation scope in 2019.

As the lead subsea engineer for the Block 18 Greater Plutonio Development Project, I am responsible for the engineering assurance of the subsea system. Whilst ensuring Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Integrity Management is implemented into the project throughout its lifecycle, I ensure that the designs comply with the project basis of design, project specifications and Industry Standards.

Oslo Area, Norway

November 2010 to March 2011 BP Skarv Subsea Project EngineerLanding String Delivery LeadAs the landing string delivery lead, I was responsible for the delivery of 4 landing string packages and associated tooling required for the Skarv drilling campaign commencing in March 2011. I ensured that the first package was manufactured, fully tested and delivered by 1st Feb 2011. The remaining 3 packages were delivered through February and March in line with the drilling campaign requirements. I was responsible for documentation reviews co-ordinating any company feedback and design issues to the contractor. I ensured that all testing procedures conformed to API 6A and BP ETP’s.In addition I was responsible for the development and qualification of a proprietary thread design which was utilised on the landing string. I co-ordinated a qualification program with a 3rd party vendor and DNV to perform FEA and full scale mechanical testing prior to commencing the offshore operation of the landing string.Subsea Connection System Delivery LeadI held the responsibility of delivery lead for the Skarv project subsea connection scope. Key responsibilities included:o Accountable for the design, fabrication and delivery of the complete infield, SPS and GEP connection system scope.o Planning, co-ordination and priority setting of the work scope with VG and their sub suppliers.o Manage and oversee on site testing of fabricated hardware at associated sites and facilities. o Ensuring all documentation, procedures and designs are fit for purpose, conform to BP’s safety requirements and associated industry practices i.e. NORSOK, ASME and DNV.
