▪️Iworked across the 4 P&O Northsea Ferries sailing between The Ports of Hull / Europoort and Zeebrugges. Two of these ferries were the biggest Passenger Ro/Ro ferries in the world when they were launched in early 2001/02. The retail role was a mixture of being customer facing combined with training and motivating our retail team to link / up sell on a wide range of goods that most travellers have become accustomed to seeing when they either fly or sail. The travel retail outlets were run as an in house P&O business until Dufry / World Duty Free took control in April 2019. ▪️While P&O transitioned from our successful in house business to that of WDF I managed both the retail and the crewing / scheduling areas. The primary objective in this role was to book holiday leave for crew and also ensuring that we maintained sufficient manpower cover onboard for the Hotel side of the business to continue to run smoothly while also arranging cover for unforeseen Sick leave or general emergency cover when the passenger numbers suddenly increased. We employed a total crew of around 145 who were constantly on a 2 week on 2 week of rota with crew joining / going on leave almost every day.▪️The administration role was also there to assist both the Captain, Ch. Officer & Ch. Engineers along with the Purser and other areas of the vessel. We also had to Ensure the correct crew passport information / passenger & Freight details was collated and given to the relevant international government bodies. While also tracking crew training requirements and organising the relevant shore side training to meet all international Maritime safety Requirements.
