People are my passion. I believe only through a diverse perspective different from our own are we capable of solving the complex issues of the world today. Therefore, I have shaped my interests and career as such to maximize my exposure to different types of education, work, and volunteer groups. The perspective that I have cultivated now allows me to quickly identify with others and become a key component of any team. I am comfortable being uncomfortable, and readily take on challenges to develop myself personally and professionally. I am a natural leader but also recognize when it is necessary to follow to learn. In the Navy, I practice this craft daily. As a Naval Officer, I am privileged to work with our country's most brilliant men and women while also collaborating with our international partners through joint operations around the globe. During my service, I have managed both small teams and large divisions in translating complex data into actionable information to enable operational decision-making in defense of our nation's interests. While continuing to hone my leadership, management, and communication skills, this career path has also enabled me to grow through exposure to the world's cultures. Exposures that have offered me different viewpoints and positions on issues that I now feel motivated to alter my career to support. In witnessing first-hand the U.S. military's positive impacts abroad, I have decided to redirect my career to contribute to broader U.S. foreign policies and programs with a more human-centric focus.
