I began my teaching career in December 2015 when I applied for a PGCE in Mathematics. From September 2016-17 I completed my teacher training at Edge Hill University. This was after graduating from University of Central Lancashire with a 2:1 BSc in Forensic Psychology.I have taught in two ofsted oustanding schools during my PGCE placement and I have worked at Reaseheath College teaching GCSE resit and Functional Skills Maths. I taught here for 6 and a half years before making the jump to teaching in a secondary school.My motivation is to be a voice and advocate for Maths students who often struggle to access and engage positively with the subject. My experience in FE has developed my skills to support these types of learners.I am excited to take my current teaching experience and knowledge into my next role in a secondary school from September. I want to inspire the next generation of Mathematicians but also continue to support and deliver a positive experience for those students where maths is not their favourite subject or is something they find challenging.
