Warehouse Associate
Assistant Store Manager
Assistant Store Manager
I started my work at Walgreens as an Assistant Store Manager Trainee. I already had grown my life as an Assistant Store Manager at my first management position. I still had much to learn about leadership that Walgreens taught me on my first week on the job. I would think that I already could lead my store by running shifts that include opening and closing days. Walgreens taught me what teamwork meant to them which I never forgot. I then started using my leadership on day to day tasks by first organizing what needed to be done for the growth of the store. I applied this with coaching my new team, which included cash handling for their shift. I also lead my team to help the pharmacy team with tasks to help the pharmacy grow and all of our customers. I then learned from my store manager in how Walgreens leads their employees everyday. I not only learned how to grow myself, but my store manager in management tasks for our store. We learned so much leading each other, that when we had inventory resets, record keeping was so much quicker and easier. We developed our own way of how to take this teamwork to other areas our store, such as hiring new team members, and then coaching that new team member and the team. Because I learned this at Walgreens, I was still able to lead a team member that was there since I started, and the new team member I had just suggested to my Store manager to hire. That new team member started working at Walgreens the next day. He started growing with an employee that was working for Walgreens for at least 10 years on his first day.
Stocker/Problem Solver
I already am an extremely reliable person, without any warehouse experience.I came into Amazon with the same leadership and customer service skills I had, with even more ambition to grow myself. Within 3 weeks, I went from being in the picking line in my department to a Problem Solver by asking how I can make Amazon grow and thrive. I was a Problem Solver for another 2 weeks, and by then I had solid experience in warehouse operations to include loading and unloading trucks for Amazon and helping other departments. These departments included such as shipping and receiving, which I helped lead and work on order picking and staging. Another thing I helped lead with was unloading the delivery trucks and organize how they were stocked. I also learned as a Problem Solver to excel at accurately labeling freight, which helped my team with monitoring inventory, using our computers to calculate and verifying quantities of lost packages. Also I learned that by using computers in Amazon's system to maintain records and track shipments within my department, I could lead other high-volume warehouse environments to do the grow the same way I helped Amazon. I could take my leadership to help any warehouse like Amazon to resolved problems on freight lines much quicker and efficiently.By leading as a Problem Solver in Amazon, I can take my skills from my time there, such as knowing what virtual/physical inventory mismatches are to any company. I can then lead other companies to help me grow my new team to learn how to make their own styles to fix virtually any inventory issues, such as shrink or waste. What I've learned in life helped Amazon by me and another member of my team to take a large quantity of packages that had been sitting in the corner since the warehouse opened, and that it got to where it needed to go everyday.
Shift Manager
I was already an experienced Assistant Store Manager who knew how I was going to teach and coach my new store team at Braums. I did this by helping to show my new team how to maximize store sales through customer satisfaction and food quality by accountability. I learned to hold myself as an Assistant Manager at Dominos. I brought this knowledge to my team, and learned how to apply this to the daily operations of Braum's food service function, grocery market and fountain sales. I lead my to team to not only use my leadership I already was teaching them, but to suggest and grow their own leadership style. I lead and coached in this way by actively participate in monitoring inventory and supply levels, kitchen equipment, safety and cleanliness of the store as well as myself. I was leading them to be responsible for ensuring that Braum's store policies and practices were implemented and followed accordingly everyday. I taught them this that way they could become better leaders than I could ever be.
Assistant Store Manager
I applied to start as driver/customer service representative. I worked hard everyday as a driver, and because I chose to, subsequently I was promoted to Assistant Manager of my starting store within less than 2 years. I lead management to make entire store operations including opening and closing of our store to be the best ever it could be. I lead 2 to 3 of my CSRs and drivers in the preparation and delivery of the we made pizzas to our customers, and made sure the customer wanted to order the next day. I personalized and created my own version of customer service and leadership, and taught that to my team the best I could. This was done in many ways, including ensuring my store was not just well cleaned, well maintained, but teaching my team how to use shelves the best way to do this. Another example included leading my the best practice I felt on the unloading of products delivered to the store from delivery the quickest and most efficient way to those shelves and keep them organized. I was transferred from my original store to my last store working at Duncanville. My proudest moment working there was when I volunteered to cover a shift at the store that hired me by my District Manager, who gave me a dollar raise to go to Duncanville. When I arrived at the shift, about 1 hour later an OER Inspector from Dominos Corporation arrived for a surprise OER test. That was the only time I got a 5-star OER Review.
