BILTFORM was founded in 2000, and I was hired in late 2001 and remained with them until late 2009. It is a firm that is actively involved in Urban Design with large scale mixed-use projects in both city and suburban centers. Being that it is more of a “Boutique” design firm gave me a number of advantages, the greatest being that I worked directly, on a day-to-day basis with a Registered Architect. I gained an understanding of every aspect of the design and building process as I was actively involved from start to finish in nearly all of the phases of the design process including Schematic Design, Code Research, Design Development, Construction Drawings and Construction Administration. Included in this process was the coordination of all disciplines (Civil, Landscape, Architectural, Structural, MPE, and Fire Protection/Life Safety). During my 8 year period, I acquired extensive knowledge of UBC, IBC, ADA, and was responsible for code reviews, planning and zoning requirements, and the coordination of projects located in 6 different municipalities and 2 different states, ranging from a 68 unit Townhome project located in Phoenix, AZ to a 380 unit Apartment complex located in Las Vegas, NV.
