Within this role I manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial tender stage to the final account & practical completion.I seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

I play a key role in building projects, managing the costs from the early design plans, through to the building’s completion, ensuring the projects meet all legal and quality standards. I am involved in a large variety of projects, assisting with negotiation and drawing up bids for contract tenders, providing financial progress reports to the hierarchy of the main contractor. If necessary I assist on behalf of the contractor to resolve disputes and advise on legal and contractual matters.

Responsible for the preparation and detailing of cost estimates and strategic plans/projections based on the scope of the construction project. This involves a variety of methods including cost estimation, valuations/agreement of final accounts, payments, supply chain management, value engineering , cost planning, feasibility studies, lifecycle costing, take-offs and cost benefit analysis.

In this role I commenced my training in the construction industry, learning and developing new skills in various job roles such as site management, planning surveying, estimating, design management, marketing and quantity surveying. In these job roles I was very much involved in the tendering processes, gaining valuable experience in the end to end bid process and assisting estimators and planning surveyors with tender strategies.
