I am a recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I received my M.S in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a specialization in Bioinformatics. I am currently expanding my knowledge of the genomic world in science. Genetics has always been a passion of mine and I believe further investigation in the field is required for the expansion of modern medicine. I discovered the field of genomics and bioinformatics as an undergrad at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My passion for the topic has only grown since joining Jeffrey Blanchard's lab as an undergraduate researcher where I have worked to broaden my understanding of genomics and the skills required for computational analysis. I have recently completed my Masters Thesis where I explored changes in gene expression due to long-term soil warming through read mapping of metatranscriptomic data to FAC-sorted bacteria.
