Manage staffing for the National Task Force on Election Crises, a diverse, cross-partisan group of more than 50 experts whose mission is to prevent and mitigate a range of election crises by preventing and responding to potential election crises. Responsibilities have included managing outreach to a network of 6,000 civil society leaders, preparing and hosting press briefings, leading strategy for the Task Force, and guiding the engagement of the Task Force members – including retired cabinet secretaries, political party officials, and retired statewide elected officeholders. Serve as the lead author and program manager for the “Faith in Elections Playbook” project in partnership with Interfaith America to engage faith-based institutions to support the 2024 election. Assembled a diverse advisory committee, created a grants program, and managed an outreach program that engaged thousands of faith-based leaders. Partnered with government officials, including governors and secretaries of state. Raised over $350,000 for the grants component of the project. Served as project captain for a team of seven staff members who advocated for the passage of reforms to the Electoral Count Act of 1887. Activities included managing coalition meetings and coordination, drafting op-eds and other communication materials, managing the development and distribution of policy recommendations, and conducting meetings with key leaders on Capitol Hill. Led a scenario planning process that included designing a process, hiring a consultant, conducting interviews and small group conversations with over 80 experts on democracy, and drafting a final report to help organize democracy advocates’ preparation for potential crises during the 2024 presidential election.
