Assistant Master Planner
DutiesPrimarily responsible for but not limited to, preliminary review of any Request for Proposals or Request for qualifications and summarizing their contents for the State Master Planner. Additionally expectations are to review and validate the State’s Real Property Inventory of all the State’s National Guard Armories, set in and record notes at all planning meetings, develop and make changes to GIS shape files, interface with internal state departments and with contracted companies, and assist in any special projects that the State Master Planner assigns.Accomplishments1) Verified validated the real property inventory of the state of Indiana’s National Guard Armories2) Read through and commented on the Joint Land Use Study proposals for Indiana’s Military Master Planning Department3) Sat in several discussion groups regarding the base's land use and encroachment issues4) Assisted with the damage assessments after the June 2008 tornado and flood hit Camp Atterbury totaling more than 50 million dollars in property damage

DutiesRequired to do the initial site assessment of the community by digitally documenting each area with detailed notes and photos. Responsible for leading and facilitating groups of citizen discussions during community charrettes. Analyzed the information and drawings and renderings developed from the charrettes and access the data and digitize the products. Utilize the data in the development of an action, comprehensive, way-finding, vision, or zoning plan. Once the plan was written I would review, correct, and verify the content. Finally, print, bind, and distribute the hard and digital copies of the plan to the community offices.Accomplishments1) Served as American Planning Association and Indiana Planning Association representative for Ball State University2) Worked with the Argos Comprehensive Plan3) Converted Argos Comprehensive Plan into a digital format.4) Worked with Kairos Design Group Harrisburg, Pa. to develop Steelton, Pa.’s Action Plan5) Develop the new graphics for the "Small Town Planning Handbook"6) Worked on and designed the Logansport Downtown Vision Plan7) Worked on Brazil Indiana’s Comprehensive Plan8) Worked extensively with Microsoft Word, and the Office Suite of products9) Extensively utilize In-Design and the Adobe Creative Suite of products10) Used Arc Map GIS to produce maps, layers, edit parcels, and land use maps.
