I am looking forward to an exciting and rigorous experience educating some of Baltimore City's youths.

All art is designed, carved and/or handcrafted by the artist "dee ah CHUR" (Christopher K. Davis).As an artist, I create compositions that are essentially transitory. Much of my work is inspired by diverse visual and tactile cues -- angles, patterns, shapes, texture -- especially those found in nature. My process is often spontaneous, beginning with a simple idea or aesthetic -- balance, color, repetition, scale -- then allowing the environment and materials to guide me through to completion.The completed works progress through changes over time. I receive fulfillment from creating eco-friendly installations where I travel, leaving my mark in the form of earthworks and land art, using found objects, natural elements, or easily biodegradable materials. Most of my compositions are intended to decay over time and return to nature. Some works are intended to endure longer by transitioning to be displayed apart from nature, in a more museum-like setting; even this is temporary, and the work will ultimately return to nature. An integral component of my compositions relies upon how the forms are translated by human interaction. I collect natural and found objects for later compositions, either moving them from one setting in nature to another, or completely removing the element from nature for translocated works. I work with mixed media, utilizing assemblage techniques for physical compositions. The completed works are either presented to others to observe or happen upon in nature and are intended to be experienced and even changed by the human condition.
