Profile bio

About Christopher Dent

I graduated from Penn State University in August of 2010 and immediately transitioned into a position at Bell Helicopter as a Drive System Design Engineer later that month. My early experience at Bell Helicopter consisted primarily of support of fielded fleets with engineering changes and trade studies for a variety of upgrades. A short time later I began to take on numerous research projects writing statements of work, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting results. In early 2011 I joined the 525 Relentless Drive System Design Team and gained a great deal of experience working through the design of a new aircraft. I worked primarily on casting, forging, machined housing, bearing, and gear/gear shaft detail design. In August of 2013, after completion of the work I had been assigned on the 525 Relentless design program, I transitioned to my current position in the Drive System Material Review Board at Bell Helicopters Drive System Manufacturing Center. During my time in this position I have reviewed discrepant machined housings, assemblies, gears, bearings, drive shafts, and a variety of other components for flight worthiness. In addition to my normal job functions in this position I have investigated a variety of manufacturing issues and identified RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Actions) that have improved manufacturing capabilities. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge that the engineering field offers and working with others to achieve a goal. I am a focused individual who bases success on results and am driven to have an impact on the work I take on.

Listed skills include Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Aircraft, and 13 others.
