Information Technology Specialist
Serves as a technical analyst and primary customer liaison with responsibility for resolving difficult customer problems involving integration or configuration issues of a wide variety of applications, and desktop configurations. Provides maintenance for multiple sites. Ensures the maintenance of a library of computers, software, and hardware in assigned areas. Upgrade all workstations during roll out of new technology and software. Makes recommendations to building-level staff regarding upgrades and replacement of technology-related equipment. Operates standard and specialized electronics devices in testing and troubleshooting computers. Supports Local Area Network both hardware (Cisco Switches, cabling and terminating connection) and software. Support and Install IP phones. Advising on software features, problems or resolutions. Possesses an understanding of mechanical, electronic, and computer principles as applied to the repair and maintenance of computers and peripherals. Configure snap-in features, user accounts, and specified applications for mission oriented operations. Provides technical support to users of computer services. Analyzes and resolves user problems related to computer and communications services, including operating systems, local area network (LAN) services and various applications packages. Gathers data and performs diagnostic techniques to help identify solutions to problems. Monitors the resolution of users' problems; expedites problem resolution efforts and coordinates with vendors and other technicians as required to resolve problems with computer hardware, software and procedures. Researches, evaluates and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements for new or modified systems and services based upon an analysis of business needs and practices. Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains customer hardware and software.
