Trained as a primary school teacher and was employed as a teacher at the Cornelius Vermuyden Comprehensive school. Emigrated to Austraia and within 3 months I was a post primary boys teacher at Numbulwar school in Arnhem Land, NT for 2 years. This was followed by a further 6 years as an adult educator for the NT Open College of TAFE at Numbulwar. With a growing family, we moved to Katherine. From then until 2019 I worked for the NT Open College of TAFE, which became Northern Territory University (NTU) and later amalgamated to become Charles Darwin University (CDU).I was on the ground floor when the BSZ started and I taught that, the TAA and the TAE, rising to TAE coordinator. I have delivered the TAE in its many forms across the whole of the NT, and even delivered it to Parliament House security staff in Canberra. I also taught LLN, office skills; business, computer studies.In 2019 I retired. I was head-hunted by ITTA (International Teacher Training Academy) to become a lead trainer/assessor for the TAE. The course is delivered online with use of Zoom.My wife and I are winding up DRV4LYF Driving school. The school ran for 18 years. In 2020 we won the NT Community Service Award for Road Safety and were state finalists in the 2024 Telstra Best of Business Award.
