On the formal side, I am a Plymouth State University graduate with a BS in Environmental Science and Policy. I have a vested interest in land & wildlife conservation, outdoor tourism, forestry, and ecology. As a long time science enthusiast and avid hiker, rock climber, and kayaker I have a well-developed passion for the protection of Earth's natural resources. I've used my time at Plymouth State to push for land and wildlife conservation inside and outside of the classroom. During my junior year, I took the opportunity for an internship with the New Hampshire Wildlife Coalition, which advocates for understanding, protection, and the decreased trapping of furbearers in New Hampshire. I primarily focused on increasing social media engagement for the Coalition and rewriting important studies and legislation to be easily viewed and understood by members of the general public at various ages. This internship taught me valuable environmental education and outreach skills. Currently, I am leading a project on ice thickness data through Plymouth State. I am working with my professor on a pilot citizen science project to examine if regular, relevant ice thickness data can be gathered from winter recreators on NH lakes. This project has improved my public outreach skills and increased my field research abilities. I plan on presenting the results of this pilot program at Plymouth's senior research event.I hope to continue and improve upon my college work through focusing on conservation & ecology in my future career.
