I provide comprehensive HR support as a Human Resources Specialist for the Texas Department of Transportation in the Dallas District. I administer HR services for approximately 850 employees and partner with all levels of leadership to create organizational effectiveness. This position includes state-wide travel as needed to provide additional HR support. I Create and maintain partnerships with senior leaders and managers in the areas of employee relations, strategy, training and development, performance management, Family Medical Leave, substance abuse and recruitment. My current position includes conducting thorough investigations and determine necessary actions while ensuring fairness and legal compliance. I have created a curriculum and lead classes to train employees for their CDL exam. This class has been implemented as training for the agency state-wide. I am engaged in the creation, design and successful implementation of a wellness program and new employee orientation for incoming Human Resource Specialists. I have developed and executed a training protocol that obtained one of the highest levels of completed training in the state and am personally responsible for timely and accurate transaction entry in to the Texas Department of Transportation HRIS. My experience has given me a thorough working knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.

My objective in this position was to evaluate and implement a company wide training program for 150 employees resulting in increased knowledge of the base line employee. I standardized the drug testing procedures during the application phase of employment. I was responsible for locating gaps in procedures and resolved related issues. I recruited, interviewed and hired at various levels in the organization including writing job descriptions, creating interview questions and ensuring compliance with EEO. I investigated trends of turn-over to provide management with potential solutions to decrease turnover. I assisted in disciplinary actions of employees including terminations. I created a New Employee Safety Orientation and assist as a Safety Point of Contact
