My journey into Information Technology began almost 12 years ago in my second year of college where I was encouraged (maybe forced is more accurate, under threat of being an outcast) by friends to build a computer so we could all play games together. I found a fascination with putting together my own customized videogame machine and slowly fell into the hobby of computer building and troubleshooting in the years since. I love when something goes wrong unexpectedly and now I have to figure out what that something is and getting it back into working order. It's almost like solving a puzzle. Yes in the moment it's frustrating, but there is also something soothing about the small detective narrative you build in your head as you to figure out what's out of order. Did an update cause a driver issue that needs to be rolled back? Did I not re-seat my RAM correctly after installing a new motherboard? Do I have a service disabled that is causing issues with my Windows startup?Over the years I saw this as nothing more than a passion, but soon realized that I could turn that passion into a career, which is why I have decided to turn toward Information Technology in the next chapter of my life. Despite my lack of professional experience in the field, I bring a humble and hungry mindset. I have already completed my CompTIA A+ certification through nothing but self study on my own time. This is tempered by my degree from FIU in which I learned probably one of the most important skill-sets of my career, communication. Being able to express my my thoughts clearly and concisely both in an informal and professional environment has served me well. My customer service experience in retail and in working as a courier for Fedex Express, dealing with customers face-to-face and making sure they were satisfied, was an explicit showcase of those communication skills and I will combine those skills along with my technical knowledge and experience in order to further my career in Information Technology.
