All views posted here are my own and do not reflect the views of my employer.I am a Python developer with a scientific background based in Physics and Astronomy. I have developed primarily in Python in the fields of GIS, remote sensing/earth observation, data analysis and processing. I have a great attention to detail and I apply that to all aspects of my work from development to quality assurance and data analysis. I thrive when given a problem I can sink my teeth into and produce solutions using Python. I enjoy combining Python programming with GIS based analysis and development to produce scripts which process datasets ready for analysis. I have also gained experience in spatial data extraction and analysis with SQL and postGIS.My experience with programming and technical content in my degree has led me to understand build up a good understanding of programming principles and this allows me to be very adaptable when learning new techniques and complex concepts to pick them up quickly and apply them to produce viable solutions. I really enjoying working on interesting technical problems whose solutions can lead to positive actions on the real world.I have worked on numerous projects with having contributed to 3 IPP projects funded by the UK Space Agency including developing earth observation data sets as part of a Drought and Flood mitigation platform (DFMS) for the Ugandan government, assessing the sustainability of planting palm oil crops in Colombia and mapping the contents of UK parks for geospatial analysis.I have also further assisted in the mapping of features within UK greenspaces across multiple cities utilising PostGIS and SQL to extract datasets and combining QGIS and Python to produce Shapefile and geojson layers of features. I applied great attention to detail in this project ensuring that all available data was extracted and properly classified.
