I have been at sea since 1980 starting as deck cadet and finally becoming master in 1997.I hold an MCA class1 unlimited masters ticket.I have recently updated all my STCW short courses and attained ECDIS certification.Having served recently on ships registered in the Marshall Islands I also hold valid MI documents.I have served on most type of deep sea vessels apart from tankers. Most of my experience being on reefer vessels and most recently container vessels.I have also worked as captain on 'pusher tugs' transporting bauxite on the river systems in Surinam. Following that I worked in the companies local office as DPA for 3 years before heading back deepsea.To add to my experience I undertake P&I cargo claims, damage surveys and expert witness work for a legal company based in the Caribbean.Since leaving the container ships registered in the Marshall Islands I have served as Master on bulk carriers and reefer vessels.I have recently been invloved in changing flag, writing ism procedures, applying for certification and crew recruitment for vessel recently purchased.Since 2021 have taken up a new opportunity as Director of Cariconsult ABC Islands as a surveyor for the Carribean Islands and a P+I correspondent
