In my earlier years, the idea of teaching crossed my mind, but my drive for problem-solving and proficiency in math and science steered me towards engineering. It was during high school, particularly through courses in CAD work and 3D modeling, that I realized engineering was my calling.My time at the University of Minnesota solidified my decision, especially as I became involved with the Energy Management department, gaining hands-on experience in building controls. While my love for all things mechanical persisted (especially Jeeps, 4x4s, and anything with an engine), it was my first role at Emanuelson-Podas that ignited my passion for building design. I relish the uniqueness of each project and find joy in seeing designs come to life.Now, as a Partner at Emanuelson-Podas, I'm deeply involved in the unique and exciting realm of building design every day. But what truly fulfills me is the opportunity to mentor and guide our exceptional staff, helping them grow and innovate while they, in turn, inspire me to do the same.Though teaching may have initially intrigued me, engineering has provided me with the perfect blend of problem-solving and mentorship, allowing me to fulfill both passions every day.
