Many reagent interactions on Laboratory Diagnostic instruments are chemical reactions. As such, they are impacted by thermodynamics. In my role, I apply my technical acumen in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and simulation to drive synergies between our thermal and fluidics subsystems. I also lead the first principles and simulation-based development of many thermal-fluidic components and have filed several patents. My functional duties include talent development, hiring, and establishing best practices. Master's Thesis: Performed both experimental and computational studies of heat transfer along the tube wall of a typical compact heat exchanger design funded by Modine. Recommended strategies to augment the heat transfer on louvered fins and tube walls.Constructed a new testing facility with the aid of CFD results, wired data acquisition systems, and instrumented testing surfaces.
