When I was 16 years old I started working for my father during the summer time. My first project was hydroseeding around a new overpass with a T120 from 6am to 8pm, and at lunch time I was told to “Eat in the truck when you can. We don’t stop”. I was exhausted; but I remember at the end of the day saying that was the most fun I’ve ever had. Fifteen years later I still love erosion control and have been on hundreds of projects over the years. Progress is a part of life. Homes need to be built and roads need to be paved. But let’s make sure we’re protecting our environment while we do it.
