Worked as a Level 2 NDE technician for REC Silicon where I got my first API certification. This was the first time I worked outside of the oil and gas field and got to learn what it was like working in a NDA chemical plant. I also became team leader and had to assume the role of safety for our site as well as how to do billing. This was all because we had a team of 10 people including myself. A lot of the crew were new to NDE so I had to do a lot of hands on training and teaching especially when it came to working at heights and having to wear fall arrest equipment

Never worked in a refinery, never worked NDE but in the course of 7 years, the company started as Edge testing, got bought by Conam NDE and then became Mistras. That whole time I worked for the same office and mostly worked at BP Cherry point. I accomplished becoming a level 2 NDE technician while also gaining on the job training hours in AUT, PAUT, Guided wave Ultrasonics, and started to gain experience in visual inspection to apply for my API certifications.
