My role at DTL was laboratory-based in a GLP facility, responsible for the technical and scientific conduct of regulatory in vitro dermal absorption studies, using a range of dose preparation and analytical techniques with radiolabelled and non-radiolabelled materials, preparation of complex formulations and handling of biological tissue.Techniques involved the incorporation of radiolabelled test substances into dose preparations, in vitro percutaneous dermal absorption, handling of human tissue, and an extensive knowledge of the use of analytical equipment, data handling and regulatory processes which encompass GLP.The work demanded a commitment to producing high quality work to meet the deadlines set by Study Directors and a flexible approach to getting the job done.

My role was to provide scientific support to clients and members of staff in the following areas:Food MicrobiologyMicrobiological food safety. Analysing food and environmental samples using a wide range of microbiological techniques.Environmental MicrobiologyWater microbiology - analysing waters from, for example, cooling towers, closed water systems, swimming pools, hydrotherapy pools, surface / irrigation water and drinking water.

During my Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology I attained a prestigious placement for one year and secured a permanent position at Tulip following the highly successful placement in Tulip Laboratories.
