Chris Franklin and Dion Butler jointly formed the Texas Prospects organization back in 2005. Chris continues to be unpaid volunteers who have a passion for youth sports and pride in the organization. Chris is one of Central Texas' most respected softball coaches and instructors; Chris brings over 25 years of coaching experience to the organization. As General Manager of the Prospects, his charge is to help direct the development of all players and coaching assistants. A great communicator of game situations and developing player skills, Chris currently oversees all team structure, development, and personnel. Chris is also the Head Coaches of our 18 U Team. A tireless proponent women's athletics and is a true leader in the community, Chris has been helping promote girls fast pitch softball throughout Central Texas and teaching young athletes that with great fundamentals and a love of the game, anything is possible. MISSION STATEMENTThe Texas Prospects softball club is a non-profit charitable corporation organized under the IRS laws encompassing 501(c)(3) entities, and is committed to providing opportunities for young athletes to engage in quality, competitive experiences. The Texas Prospects is dedicated to the idea that any athlete, regardless of race, creed, religious affiliation, or sociology-economic status should be given that opportunity. A competitive athletic experience can instill a good work ethic, enhance social development, contribute to mental and physical health, and teach values of personal responsibility, self-discipline, self-motivation, and teamwork. • Improving individual skills and ability to play and contribute as a member of a team• Earning and/or keeping a position on the team• Earning a college scholarship Involves individual player growth. This includes improvement in skill level AND in the mental outlook necessary to be a successful member of a Select softball team.
