Shipped and managed New Customer Accounts across both merchant and buyer-facing surface areas. New Customer accounts is a hub for merchant's customers to manage their orders, make payments and maintain a customer profile. Responsible for the redesign and future capabilities for the Order details page, a post-checkout experience which millions of Shopify buyer’s engage with when placing an order. Lead the design for New Customer Accounts Extensibility, an app developer sandbox which allows 1st and 3rd party app developers to build custom experiences that further empower merchants beyond what Shopify provides with its base product offerings. In my day-to-day, I collaborated with product strategy, UX leadership and engineering to craft the present and future direction of New customer accounts.In May 2023, I was part of a layoff that impacted 23% of Shopify's staff.

An RBCx venture which started with a simple solution to provide homeowners with notifications that inform them when to take out their garbage or recycling. Seeking to grow GarbageDay's value prop to our 200,000+ users, the service now offers content to raise awareness and make it easier for users to make educated sustainable choices. From recycling tips, to deals on eco-friendly brands, GarbageDay aims to enable actions in your everyday life to have a more positive impact on the environment. I lead the product design for a native iOS and Android app which acts as a comprehensive hub for all of this venture's service offerings.

An RBCx venture aimed at building trust between homeowners and contractors by providing verified users with a payment platform to seamlessly make payments and deposits between separate bank accounts. After a successful web app MVP was released and in market for over a year, I designed and contributed to the product strategy of an iOS P2P payment app that allowed for bank account linking and the ability to seamlessly transfer up to $50,000 between homeowner and contractor.

As a member of Live Labs at the MaRS Centre, I engaged in design thinking sprints that ideated on user experiences for both CIBC and Simplii Financial that could be implemented via existing work streams. Validated future-forward solutions and presented these to senior leadership in order to gain buy-in and unlock project funding. Acted as a photographer’s assistant involved in setting up lighting equipment and taking photographs in studio sessions and weddings. Technical work involved use of Adobe Photoshop to edit images and design promotional material for the company.

As a CSR I was responsible for working the till, restocking films on shelves and other product inventory. On Friday's and Saturday's which were the highest traffic days, I would act as an Active Seller. This role was typically reserved for people who had the most comprehensive movie knowledge amongst the staff at a particular location. The Active Seller would walk the floor on peak hours and provide insights and suggestions for customers, in addition I was required to promote various specials Blockbuster was offering, such as the Rewards Membership. Over time I had developed a rapport with numerous customers who would often come to the store once a week just to get a new movie recommendation from me.
