As an appointed governing body member, I played a vital role in shaping future city development efforts. I advised the city council on all planning affairs, zoning issues, utilities, housing, and other economic development projects related tocommunity improvement. I also worked closely with commissioners, staff, community stakeholders, and city council members to establish updated goals, policies, and plans for the City of Baldwin Park 2020 General Plan.▣ Drove economic development by advancing major development projects such as Jack in the Box and Starbucks.▣ Ensured community interests were heard and addressed fairly and transparently by staff regarding land use and development projects.

In this role, I supported the analysis of processes and systems for this community-driven non-profit. I also delivered insight to drive system development activities, technical enhancements, and critical process improvements. My scope included: data analysis, technical constraints assessments, reporting, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Additionally, I attended county meetings as a corporate representative for grants and strategic partnerships.▣ Streamlined and developed a more accurate inventory tracking process by creating an inventory and funds tracker database to monitor up to $20K in incoming and outgoing donations.▣ Improved invoice retrieval for staff members by developing an online invoice system that reduced time and storage.

In this position, I led a team of Transportation Security Officers (LTSOs) and was charged with performing full-scale security functions, including people, property, and cargo screenings. I coordinated security operations designed to mitigate civil aviation threats. I also composed incident reports to aid law enforcement and management with investigations and other reports and documentation. I also participated in and delivered information briefings, including security sensitive and classified information.▣ Served as the interim Manager in charge of airport and transportation terminal operations.▣ Improved team performance and productivity by setting priorities, assigning tasks, monitoring and evaluating performance, coaching and continually developing employee capabilities, and taking corrective disciplinary actions (including potential dismissal).▣ Leveraging insight and observed trends, recommended changes, and developed new policies and procedures, including two employee performance evaluation systems.▣ Contributed to the development of workforce initiatives by creating and leading a brand-new interactive briefing/debriefing training among officers.▣ Utilized exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with our external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure the safety and screening protocols are met.▣ Directed the work of team members by setting priorities; assigning tasks; monitoring and evaluatingperformance; coaching and continually developing employee capabilities; preparing performanceevaluations; and, taking or recommending corrective disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal,as appropriate.
