Senior Finance Adviser, University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ August 2010 – Present • Responsible for analyzing and managing account receivables for over 520 Military student accounts. Provides excellent student experience by effective communication through email by phone and in person to help military students accomplish their educational and financial goals through careful budgeting, planning and strategizing. • Financially clearing and auditing new and continuing students for each and every class based on selected finance options including Military benefits chapters 30, 31, 33, Tuition assistance, MYCAA, TOPUP and Financial Aid. Making sure funds on account are budgeted and allocated to correct student invoices.• Communicates and collaborates frequently with other departments to enhance student customer service. Leads monthly conference calls with six Southern California Campuses including twenty six enrollment counselors and three managers covering the ever-changing Military VA financial policies and guidelines for new student registration while promoting excellence in teamwork. • Improved Southern California Military student retention from 78% to 92% in less than one year of taking over team, (Company standard is 66%). • Actively led Military Financial Course Clearance Committee comprised of senior finance advisers, finance managers and the director of finance to collaborate and create new best practices with the goal of improving student financial success.
