As President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chris is forward-thinking with a proven record of accomplishments at Solvita (Community Blood Center | Community Tissue Services). Over his 20-year career his drive, ambition and dedication for continuous business improvement are anchored to the company's mission of Extraordinary people transforming "the gift" to save and enhance lives. In late November 2003, Chris started his journey in Philadelphia, PA.; that year the company distributed 60,000 grafts for transplant; 19 years later, Chris, along with the extraordinary team at Solvita, distribute hundreds of thousands of grafts yearly, positively making an impact for more individuals and families through tissue donations.Chris earned his bachelor's degree in Science from Bowling Green State University and received his MBA from Ohio University. Chris joined the Advisory board for Indiana Donor network in 2023, the Board of the Miami Valley Research Park Association in 2019 and the Joint Restoration Foundation Board in 2016.Chris was drawn to the industry when he was personally touched by tissue donation when one of his college roommates became a donor after being involved in a car accident and succumbed to his injuries. Drawing from this experience Chris was driven to serve and support families that are touched by the generosity of Organ & Tissue donations. In 2012, Chris wrote and published the book Bubba the Bear, a story written to console children severely burned requiring skin grafting providing them encouragement, education and companionship. Solvita provides free of charge the book and a teddy bear to children as a companion on their skin grafting journey. To date over 3,000 Bubba the Bear kits have been given to children around the world.
